June 29 Are you a FANS of anything?Hey.........
It's been a long time again since my last wrote..
Well, after the submission of the C coursework, my boyfriend came over to visit for the weekend. So basically nothing much had happened.. we were just chilling, I was working on my dissertation a little (well, as expected from Phil) eat and cook some nice stuffs.. the thing is I ate so many sweets!! >< gonna be a big fat lady sooner or later if I keep on doing this
Also had a chance to sit in the pub and rooted for the match.. well, it wasn't a very good one though and I didn't get to watch till the end. A bit disappointed but its ok, I wasn't really a big fan of football anyway.
According to Yoshiki's myspace blog, he will visit Baltimore this August >< omg I really really wanna see him in person. I even checked the price of flying from the UK to Baltimore (US), turned out that the price is ridiculous, around 550£ for a return flight.. my dream collasped in a snap.
I guess I can just stay on the side track, watching whatever happen to him from far away. Well, if I am to be honest, for me getting a plane ticket from UK to Baltimore, or taking a couple of days or weeks off during this period isn't somewhat impossible to do. Since it's a dissertation period, anyone can choose when to work as long as the work gets done in time. Why didn't I do that? just because I feel that it's a little bit too much.. I have my own life to mind too.. However, this doesn't mean that I don't give him the best as the other fans do.. What constitute FANS to me is, listening to his releases, carefully till the point that I understand his feeling while writing the music.. support his works all the time, well isn't that enough? I guess not...
So, Bye Bye Baltimore... I don't think I can make it this time, I really do hope to meet him someday... in Japan would be cool!
June 18 Who's the Man!Ho ho ho...
ok..
not a Santa Clause's laughing sound..
it's just my expression of happiness..
Well, it's been quite a long time since my last touch with C Programming Language, because by that time I was too stomped with the group project that used Oberon-2 mainly..
Now it's the time for the C coursework that was postponed for a month.. due to the AUT strike action thing..
The easy thing turns out to be quite tricky!
I thought that I would spend only a day completing the assignments.. here I am, still on the middle of it. However, I'm progressing :)
So what's to be so happy about?
I found out that I in fact picked up C quite easy, although the syntax is quite different and I did struggled with the Array part.. but most of them are based on the same rules..
Today I found most errors with programming in C, and pretty much solved it by now.. although it's a very tiny little error such as forget to break the operation when find the right number, or just simply print out the address of the integer, not the integer itself.. it's a step for me!
Right now I guess I kinda like programming... after all, it's like learning a new language to me ...
However, my dissertation stuff is going very slowly because the deadline for C courseworks lies ahead. I'll have to meet with my supervisor in 2 days and I haven't really done any progress.. hope I can figure out something cool before meeting with him ><
Another news is, I moved!
We all have to move out of Polden Court as it said in the beginning that the contract was only for 9 months. My new place is Thornbank Gardens, plus same kitchen group as my other best friends here. Everything is about the same as before except that we have the train noise as company at all time.. and the water pressure sucks!... but in trade off for living off campus and the fact that it's actually closer to town, I guess I have to accept the trade. One more thing is that our rooms are on 4th floor, so the scenery is beautiful... love it love it..
Today I just found out that there are some small insects, bright red colour crawling around outside the buiding especially outside my window.. so whenever I open the window, they came in.. omg.. this is like hell! and today's weather is BOILING! I did sprayed pesticide on them but didn't seem to work >< hopefully they are not poisonous...
So a week ahead will be quite busy again, since the C coursework is due on Wednesday, and I will have to focus my full time on dissertation... although most of my friends are leaving for holidays.. somehow I can't really do that .. what a sad life (wannabe) being computer scientist. Things keep changing, ideas come when I least expect them..
June 09 Gimme the A/C!What a sunny day!
well, supposedly that should be an expression of good feeling.. but NO!!! It is burning in here.. no A/C... I need polar Ice here right now... Thank god the sky is clear... Wind breathes.... I can hear... Anyway, back to the reality
Long time no see, again...
After the exam, I have been away for a couple of days to Bournemouth to see Mr.Rabbit ^_^ Well, this time it was quite a relaxing trip because most of the time we stayed in the room and watch Japanese series.. so glad to be able to drag him along to have the same interest as me (at least...) So I successfully made him watch Brother Beat and Good Luck.. which turns out to be quite a satisfying result ^_^ heeh heeh.. so that's about all..
Oh, I also went to the aquarium near Bournemouth Pier.. well.. was quite fun to see, although most of the visitors were elementary students..
I also succeed in manipulate him to go watch "Da Vinci Code" with me as well.. lol although this time is without the popcorn though...
A week later on, I spend most of my time at my room, cleaning, resting, relaxing... and went to see my friend who lives in Swindon. It took about half an hour to get there. so we went shopping together, ate Pizza and watch movie called "Prime", and this time is with popcorn.. YUM!!
The beginning of this week (5 Jun) I went to London with Jeab, just to accompany her to apply for Swedish Visa to go travel. Mr Rabbit also came along so we can go sight seeing afterward..
It was one fine day that was a bit awkward in the morning because we couldn't make it in time for getting the queue number at the embassy, but later on my friend managed (?) to finally made them retrieve the application.. lol, was quite a funny story which I shouldn't put it here though...
While my friend was spending time manipulate the embassy people, I and Mr.Rabbit went to Westminster to take some pic with Big Ben and London Eye and the church.
In the afternoon, we went to have Japanese food at Japan Centre, also meet up with my friend who came from Thailand to visit friends in the UK, including me.
Later on we went to Buckingham Palace and took a walk around Green Park, then we went to see St.Mary church and Tate Gallery and finally ran to catch the bus home. Although we almost missed the bus, things turn out to be quite close in time but wasn't that bad after all.. :p
So my friend came to stayed with me for 3 nights afterward. Most of the day we went out into town, I showed her around Bath city centre, the Roman Bath and went to Bristol for a bit.. took some pics of Suspension Bridge and Victoria Square..
The other day Jeab also came along, we went to Costume museum, Crescent , the Circus and walked around in the town, took a couple of pics in front of Bath Abbey and that's all for the whole sightseeing in Bath..
My friend went back to London on Thursday afternoon. The rest of the day I just watch japanese serie "Pride" for the second time with Jeab. No matter how many time I watch it, I still like them a lot ^_^
Today is supposed to be the formal starting period for dissertation for my department, so I had a meeting with my supervisor. A week ahead is gonna be somewhat busy for me since I need to at least complete part of the project (which will lay as the basic tools for my whole project), finish the C coursework... (which should take no more than a day, as it said on the paper) and the biggest thing is "Moving" Yes! I will need to move out by Monday morning, sharp!... haven't packed yet, it's gonna be a hard time for me...
PS: The photos are updated in Photo Album, pls feel free to browse through.. I am too lazy to edit the photo so I just copied it as it is from the camera :p |
