    Switzerland Trip

Finally Summer's international trip (UK Summer, what I refer) for me this year! Switzerland...

Yep! I went to Switzerland with Mr.Rabbit for the past week, plus a little time off so I in fact took around 2 weeks off and today should be the last day that I play ignorant >< I should get back to reality soon.

Anyway, before doing that, let me update this space and share the experience from this trip. It was a great fun and great experience since this is total first time for me to prepare everything including booking hostels, planning routes and such. The reason I'm saying that it's totally first time because for the past few trips, my friend always plan it and I was too lazy to give my 100% participation in planning ahead! lol, either way is fine though.

Since it's the first time for me planning it, plus we are both pure novice in backpacking, it was a bit reluctant at first but then it gets better as time went along. I actually learned quite a lot from the trip, and the outcome was pretty much okey for the time being. After all, we enjoyed it very much ^_^

There were so many tips that I can recall from the trip though, for example... do not try to taste Cheese Fondue if you are Asian, especially Thai.. confirmed by me, Mr.Rabbit and P'Tao (who had the same experience last winter lol! ), You can also buy a ticket that entitle you to rights like Swiss Pass but in half price.. but! I still think that Swiss Pass is better because I've heard that you get even better price with age under 26.. I can say this because I didn't buy Swiss Pass! I bought Euro Domino which include unlimited travel by train (public national train) and only some reductions and free rides in private services, but in half price of swiss Pass. While with Swiss pass, you can get on almost any kind of services for free or half price. However, for the time being, we calculated and still find that Euro Domino gives the better rate.
Also if you go to Zermatt, you will definitely have to pay even though you have Swiss Pass or Euro Domino, for Swiss PAss, you get half price automatically, but if you are under 26 you get 50% discount for Euro Domino. We didn't get half price because we didn't claim for it though T_T so sad...

Of all 7 days we went to 10 cities (Geneva, Interlaken, Zermatt, Jungfraujoch, Lausanne, Montreaux, Bern, Lucerne, Zurich, Basel) which was quite a large number considering we stay in Interlaken for 4 nights and bern for 2 nights.. we should have stayed in Bern for the whole period or just stay in Interlaken only when we need to go to Jungfrau because almost all destination require a change of train in Bern T_T... plus hostel in Bern is so much better (Bern Backpacker), clean and nice.. such an ideal city hostel. While in Interlaken (Balmer's Herberge) it was so much countryside feeling.. and maybe there were too crowded so we didn't like it too much.

I've updated some pics in my photo album, please take a look at it.. More pictures can be found at my Yahoo Albums.. here's the link
